My Top Reads For 2017

In no particular order, but every one a real winner for me.

I don’t like to give too much of a book away so I’m going to describe each one in feels, because that’s the most important thing to me.

The Keeper of Lost Things

Now this is a book with all the feels! A simply charming read full of wonderfully written characters. One of who will stay with me forever – the delightful Sunshine. A book bursting with love, loss and hope.

The Collector

This sequel, to one of my favourite debuts of last year, terrified me – but in a good way!  Fiona Cummins’ words raced through my veins again like pure adrenaline. A heart-pounding, teeth-clenching read.

Three Things About Elsie

I absolutely adored this book. A masterpiece of beautiful writing. Funny yet sad. My heart thumped its way through every page. A perfectly perfect book for me. This will definitely be one to look out for in 2018.

The Five People You Meet In Heaven

This was my first Mitch Albom book and I have to admit I did fall a tiny bit in love with the author within in the first few pages. After this one I read six more of his in a row. I just couldn’t help myself! I must admit, also, I’m a sucker for a great story involving the afterlife and so now this book, and its writer, will always hold a special little place in my heart.

Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine

I think Eleanor Oliphant could well go down as one of the greatest characters of her time. A book crammed with all the emotions. Pure, simple brilliance. An absolute delight to read. So many feels with this one.

The Memory Chamber

This book blew me away from the opening line. Intriguing and thought provoking, I was instantly transfixed. In fact I think I read most of it with my mouth hanging open. Another great one to watch out for in 2018.

Well what another great book year it’s been! I’d love to hear about any of your favourites so I can add them to my pile for 2018. ❤️
